Web Accessibility Evaluations for Web Developers
This service is provided to web developers whether in-house or independent. The time to implement and configure web page accessibility is in the programming stage. Working on a “completed” page only sets up unnecessary and time consuming challenges for all involved. Collaborating near the end of page development allows for easier accessibility adjustments and corrections.
This service allows for testing “chunks” code. One example is a multi-field form that might appear within a larger page. The entire form could be evaluated independently of the rest of the page.
Test Procedure
The bulk of the testing is done using assistive technology (AT). AT provides the end-user perspective and frequently reveals accessibility coding that, while present, is not functioning as intended. Other accessibility testing tools are used in combination with the AT.
Report
A straight forward report is provided indicating the accessibility of the pages tested. Functional anomalies (areas of inaccessibility) are plainly described and descriptions of successful accessible functionality are also described. In some cases, code may be referred to, but the focus of this evaluation is the accessible functionality of the age as rendered in a browser.
